This week's episode of the MedicCast EMS podcast features a look at a couple of excellent online resources for educating medical professionals about drug abuse, treatments, and trends.  In the shownotes over at the MedicCast podcast site, you'll find a list of links to sites like the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the Centers for Disease Control, and a list of Poison Control Center websites.

The podcast for EMTs and paramedics also features another in our monthly segments with Lisa Booze from Maryland Poison Control.  She features a look at dextromethorphan abuse and gives some great information on assessment and treatment of this common drug of abuse among certain groups of young people.

Visit The MedicCast Podcast Site Now! You'll find shownotes and links for all of the MedicCast Episodes as well as other articles and commentary on EMS news and research.

This week on the latest episode of the MedicCast podcast, the weekly show for EMTs and paramedics, I cover information on albuterol for BLS providers.

Plus, I get a chance to interview the inventor of the Oxyphone, a new product for giving nebulizer treatments to toddlers and preschoolers.  Check out the interview in the podcast mp3 link below.

EMS Payroll

Lets fix this! The EMS communtity knows that we are underpayed and the insurance agencys are to blame (along with our regulars god love 'em!) There has to be a way that we can come together and get this solved, we don't do this job for the money. We do this job because we love it. We need to come together and get pro-active in the situation. I hear every day some one complain because they are broke, yet no one wants to do anything about it. If we all pull together maybe something can be done. I know I am open for ideas and willing to do whatever it takes!
I had the opportunity to talk with John Bignell about the recent updates here at EMSLive.com and what he wanted to accomplish here.  It is the featured interview segment on this week's MedicCast Podcast.
